The World Health Organization Framework Convention on Tobacco Control, which was signed by over 180 parties, provides foundations for countries to implement and manage tobacco control. To further reduce the smoking prevalence, many countries formulate a comprehensive and constantly strengthened tobacco control policy to protect public health, including raising tobacco tax substantially; banning all forms of tobacco advertising, promotion and sponsorship; expanding smoke-free areas; implementing tobacco plain packaging, raising the legal age of smoking; banning alternative smoking products; and envisioning to achieve a smoke-free future.
